Lawson Sakai / Japanese American American Stories + Japanese American National Museum

An interactive storytelling experience that honors WWII veteran and civil rights activist Lawson Iichiro Sakai. Developed in collaboration with Japanese American Stories and the Japanese American National Museum, this project used StoryFile technology to capture Sakai’s powerful firsthand account of the Japanese American incarceration experience tied to Executive Order 9066 and its aftermath. Theodore produced the shoot and contributed to exhibit design, supporting digital storytelling that educates and preserves intergenerational memory.
